Volunteer Waiver

The 2013 Famously Hot New Year Committee, hereinafter described as FHNY, and its agents, employees, directors, affiliates, and insurers shall not be liable to volunteer, volunteer’s heirs, agents, servants, employees, legal representatives, successors, predecessors, assigns, executors, administrators, or affiliates, for any damage to, or, loss of, volunteer’s property while volunteer is en route to, at, or leaving the Famously Hot New Year event, from any cause whatsoever, including, but not limited to, burglary, fire, water damage, mysterious disappearance, acts of God, or the active or passive acts or omissions, or under a good faith but mistaken claim of abandonment by volunteer.

FHNY or its agents, employees, directors, affiliates, and insurers shall not be liable to volunteer for injury or death suffered by any person, including volunteer’s guests, or invitees, occurring while volunteer is en route to, at, or leaving the Famously Hot New Year event, from any cause whatsoever, even if such injury or death is caused by the active or passive acts or omissions or negligence of FHNY, or its agents, employees, directors, affiliates, and insurers. I understand there are certain risks associated with FHNY activities, and I assume all risks associated therewith.

Additionally:

• I understand that as a volunteer, I am critical to the success of FHNY and the enjoyment of event attendees.
• I agree to show up for my volunteer shift on time and, if I must cancel, I will notify the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as possible by email to volunteer@famouslyhotnewyear.com
• I agree to refrain from consumption of alcohol before or during my volunteer shift, or while wearing event staff identification.
• The minimum age limit for volunteers is 18.
• I will read and understand the contents of the volunteer guide and agree to abide by the rules and guidelines set forth for volunteering. I understand that failure to abide by the event rules and guidelines will result in removal from the event.
• I give permission to the FHNY for the full, free and unconditional use of my name and photograph in connection with this event in any type of media, written account, broadcast or telecast of this event beginning to end for any legitimate purpose.
