Famously Hot New Year is the Palmetto State's largest NYE party, and it is free for all ages! It wouldn’t be possible without support from a fantastic volunteer team. This year, we will be working with several community and non-profit organizations to help guide our guests and measure our impact. In addition, we need about 50 individual volunteers to ensure partygoers have fun and stay safe in a clean and festive environment. We’ve created several volunteer team assignments and shifts.
What do volunteers receive in return for their time? A really cool but Famously Hot T-shirt, an indoor lounge with private bathrooms, snacks and stuff, and the knowledge that you helped manage a fabulous free and safe event for thousands of guests on New Year’s Eve in The Real Southern Hot Spot.
I recognize that as a Famously Hot New Year Volunteer I am a key part of the community and a representative of the festival. As I will be shaping the experience of others, I agree to contribute to a safe and clean environment by respecting the dignity of all people at the festival at all times.
I understand that to volunteer at the event I must be at least 18 years of age and I must be sober when I begin my shifts as consumption of alcohol while on duty as a volunteer is not allowed.
I agree to work for the full duration of my assigned shift. If concerns arise during my work as a volunteer, I will communicate any concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator so they can have ample opportunity to address those concerns.
I will attend any required pre-event meetings, fulfill my service commitment, and if I am not going to be able to fulfill the obligations of this volunteer spot, I will inform the Volunteer Coordinator of my cancellation no later than Friday, December 29th.
I also understand that while the festival hopes to provide plenty of volunteering opportunities, a match cannot be guaranteed for all submissions. The Volunteer Coordinator has the sole discretion in accepting or rejecting applications for volunteers, and this discretion may be exercised on any basis, including where the required number of volunteers has been reached. The decision of the Volunteer Coordinator in accepting or rejecting an applicant is final.
