Columbia, South Carolina will once again host the annual Famously Hot New Year celebration on Saturday, Dec. 31st. This year, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are bringing their New Orleans sound to River City as they headline the state’s largest New Year’s Eve festivity. If you’re unfamiliar with the group, here are few stats about the musicians: Trombone Shorty is a native of the Big Easy and is the frontman, while Orleans Avenue is the band. Together they form a “a hard-edged funk band that employs hip-hop beats, rock dynamics and improvisation in a jazz tradition,” according to their website.
