Beginning in its inaugural celebration with George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Famously Hot New Year expanded in its second year, bringing The Wallflowers, led by Jacob Dylan, son of the legendary Bob Dylan, to South Carolina to headline the event. Atlantic Starr and funky DJ Biz Markie supported the headliner along with local bands Reggie Sullivan and Terrence Young opening the evening.
Year 3 celebrated with chart breaker Kool and the Gang, anchored by fantastic indie rock star ZZ Ward. Opening the FHNY show on December 31, 2013 was local rock band, Weaving the Fate.
On Dec. 31, 2014, Famously Hot New Year opened with regional reggae band Lefty at the Washout. Up-and-coming supporting act was the indie chart-topping MisterWives from Brooklyn opening for the legendary O’Jays helping a record crowd welcome 2015 with international hits Love Train, Back Stabbers, For The Love Of Money, and Use Ta Be My Girl.
