Q. Can I upgrade my ticket once I’m there?
A. Yes! If you arrive at the FHNY2014 General Admission area, you can still upgrade your ticket to ring in the new year in the Absolut Crescent Lounge. In fact, skip the lines, go ahead and upgrade now.
Q. Is this an all ages event?
A. We are happy to have the young and the young-at-heart ring in the new year in famously hot fashion And to keep everyone safe, no one under the age of 21 will be granted access to the Absolut Crescent Lounge or Palmetto Penthouse.
Q. What about parking?
A. Free parking is available in 6 City of Columbia parking garages just blocks away from the event. Find more parking details and a map. The City of Columbia garage located at Assembly and Lady Streets is reserved for VIP and media parking.
Special parking for disabled individuals is available. These spaces are reserved for vehicles displaying state-issued (any state) disability placards or license plates. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Q. Ok, so I’m there, what about bathrooms?
A. Want to powder your nose in the comfort of the indoors? Upgrade your ticket to VIP. If you’re ringing in the new year in the streets, there will be porta-potties available. Check the map for locations.
Restrooms and porta-potties for disabled individuals will also be available. Locations are noted on the map.
Q. What if it rains?
A. This is a rain-or-shine event. Make plans to have a terrific evening, no matter what the weather!
Q. Will businesses in the area be open?
A. Some local businesses will remain open while others will be ringing in the new year alongside you. Each individual business owner will make final determination about operating hours during the event.
Q. So far this sounds like a happening party, is there anything that I CANNOT bring into the event area?
A. We like to party and we like to keep the party fun for everyone. Here’s a list of what is NOT ALLOWED inside of the FHNY2014 event area:
- Weapons of any kind
- Illegal substances
- Backpacks of any kind
- Food or beverage of any kind
- Alcohol (beer, wine, and champagne will be sold at the event)
- Containers or coolers of any kind
- Skateboards, scooters, or personal motorized vehicles (exceptions for people with mobility limitations)
- Fireworks and explosives
- Instruments and laser pointers
- Picnic baskets
- Lawn furniture
- Pets (except service dogs)
- No illegal vending is permitted—no unauthorized/unlicensed vendors allowed

A. Our primary goal is to create a safe and secure environment for all event attendees. To ensure this, there will be on-site security provided by local police and private security companies. If you’re experiencing any problems whatsoever, locate an event staff member, security guard, or police officer.
WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY TOWARD VIOLENCE OF ANY TYPE. ANY INCIDENTS WILL BE ADDRESSED BY THE CITY OF COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND EVENT SECURITY. ANY PERSONS INVOLVED IN FIGHTINGOR VIOLENT ACTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM SITE AND/OR ARRESTED, NO EXCEPTIONS!

A. We wish you and your pet a famously hot new year, but for the safety of everyone attending, pets must remain at home. Service animals trained to assist disabled persons will be allowed into the event.
Q. Are cameras allowed at the event?
A. Absolutely! Take lots of pictures… and please share them with us. You can tag us, tweet us, pin to our pinboards, and give us a shout out on Instagram or Vine.
Q. Can I leave the event and return later?
A. Of course! You may leave and re-enter the event as long as you are wearing your FHNY2014 wristband. If you leave and return, you will have to go through gate check-in.
Q.How do tickets work?
A. Space is limited in our VIP Absolut Crescent Lounge. Each ticket purchased is individually numbered and barcoded to avoid forgery. They will be mailed via US Postal Service to the address you entered when you made your purchase. The names of all purchasers will also be on a list at the VIP entry gate. Each guest must have one ticket to enter.
Q. How will I receive my tickets?
A. Tickets will go out by December 16 for people who purchased early and no later than December 20. Purchasers will be emailed at the time tickets go out advising that tickets have been mailed. Please place them in a safe place until New Year’s Eve.
Tickets purchased after December 20 will be picked up at Will Call. When you arrive at the Absolut Crescent Lounge, you will check in using the name given at the time of purchase and be given the number of tickets purchased.
Q. Can I purchase tickets at the door or by phone?
A. To purchase by phone, please call 803.212.7118. Your tickets will be mailed or placed at Will Call depending on the dates above in “How will I receive my tickets”. Yes, you can purchase tickets at the door if any remain available at the time of the event. If the website says “Sold Out” over the VIP Absolut Crescent Lounge area, no additional tickets can be sold due to space limitations.

Q. How do I know if my online transaction is complete?
A. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation page telling you the status of your purchase, followed by a copy of this confirmation sent to the e-mail address you provided at the pucahase form. You may want to add firstname.lastname@example.org to your e-mail address book to ensure it doesn’t go into your spam folder.
